The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Specialist Engineer, Geotechnical to join our Planning, Engineering, Technology & Development team in Sudbury, ON. This is a permanent position.
The Geotechnical Engineer is responsible for providing oversight and assurance on geomechanically modeling, risk assessments, trade-off studies, cost estimation and technical reviews across multiple projects at the FEL1 and FEL2 study phases. The Underground Geotechnical Engineer leads initiatives to optimize mine designs and implementation of improvement ideas, while considering impacts on production, capital costs and operating costs. The role holder is also responsible for developing the geotechnical data collection program to support the FEL studies while ensuring the projects are delivered within scope, cost, and schedule and that the safety and quality objectives agreed for the project are met.
