Interior Health is looking for a permanent full time Specialist Cloud Software to join our friendly and supportive Business Systems team. The Business Systems team supports many non-clinical systems at Interior Health. This is an exciting opportunity to join Interior Health just as we look to modernize our people and finance systems.

The location of this position is flexible within the Interior Health region. This role is currently remote first, with the requirement to attend in-person meetings in Kelowna when required.

Who are we looking for?

The Specialist will play a vital role in ensuring the successful implementation of cloud-based People systems. We are looking for someone who has experience with Digital Health and Cloud Software and is able to develop strategic and tactical plans in a health care environment.

What will you work on?

The Specialist, Cloud Software manages and supports Software as a Service (SaaS) configuration to enable business functionality. The Specialist is responsible for maintaining the software, mapping new business requirements to configuration, release management of new features and overall health of the SaaS based solution. The Specialist will work closely with business areas and Digital Health teammates to transform the delivery of services by leveraging industry leading technology.

Some Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Maintains the configuration of cloud-based applications:
o Documents configuration, including features, options, policies, settings, defaults
o Maps organizational business requirements to application settings and configuration
o Assesses value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics, and themes to ensure work aligns with product strategy

2. Leads product release plans and set expectations for delivery of new application functionalities:
o Assesses product roadmap and plan for the implementation of new functionality and features
o Actively mitigates roadblocks impacting successful completion of release goals
o Documents changes and updates including application and business process impact
o Documents configuration decisions and actively review for system optimization opportunities
o Coordinates testing/training of new features and functionality with the business-line
o Completes ITIL Changement Management requirements and implement updates

3. Completes gap analysis between SaaS and business requirements, working with Digital Health teams on the development of process and/or systems to address shortcomings.

4. Works with the Provincial shared service organization on governance, shared tenancy configuration and access requirements necessary to provision and support the application.

5. Documents system integration requirements and specificiations, working with system owners and the appropriate team to ensure data interfaces are developed, monitored and maintained.

6. Develops and maintain an access model associated with the application and features, working with the Identity Management team to enable user access.

7. Maintains a functional budget responsible for managing software licensing allocation and consumption, exploring opportunities to optimize application usage and maximize cost efficiency.

8. Assesses and review system reporting needs configuring software functionality to meet requirements, and submitting report specifications when not possible.

9. Serves as the product ambassador internally and externally, sharing knowledge and answering questions related to the product.

10. Assigns and directs the work of other portfolio workers in support of cloud software enablement.

11. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education, Training and Experience:

  • A Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s or Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience and education. A Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree is preferred.
  • Expert-level skill and experience with:
o [Specific SaaS application] functionality and governance
o Microsoft Active Directory, Identity Management, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
o Cloud computing platforms: eg. Microsoft Azure, AWS
o Powershell scripting and automation
  • A minimum of five years of proven experience as a System Administrator or equivalent supporting a cloud platform and on-premises server environment.
  • Preferred knowledge and experience with:
o Application planning, development, delivery and operations tools (DevOps) and agile methodology
o ITIL Processes: Configuration, Application, Incident, Problem, Change and Release Management
o Cloud Solution Certification eg. Microsoft, AWS, Google Certified
o Working knowledge of database concepts and the ability to generate troubleshooting SQL queries
o Experience working in a complex, computerized enterprise environment

  • Strong organizational and planning skills to support accomplishing IH goals/objectives.

  • Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a highly dynamic, fast paced, continually evolving environment.
  • Flexible, adaptable to change, innovative, and responsive to clients\xe2\x80\x99 needs.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
