We\'re looking for a mission-driven Specialist, Application Support who is passionate about creating more accessible, inclusive, and equitable communities across Canada where people with low vision have unlimited opportunities and can experience life free from barriers and discrimination.

Your Impact at CNIB

  • Liase support to end-users and resolve software-related issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Utilize SQL to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from databases for troubleshooting and reporting purposes.
  • Maintain and support the Drupal content management system (CMS) to ensure the website\'s smooth operation.
  • Apply basic scripting and programming principles to customize and enhance software applications as needed.
  • Implement web design principles, search engine optimization (SEO) techniques, and accessibility standards to improve user experience.
  • Perform thorough regression testing of applications at various stages of the code release cycle to identify and resolve issues.
  • Work with Gitlab and other issue tracking tools for version control and issue management.
Requirements:

Who you are:

Education and Certifications
  • Degree or diploma in related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • IT certifications related to application support or web development are considered an asset.
Experience and Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably as a BA or IT application support environment.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data retrieval and analysis.
  • Experience with Drupal CMS and customization.
  • Basic scripting and programming knowledge.
  • Familiarity with Windows Desktop Platforms and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Understanding of web design principles, SEO, and accessibility standards.
  • Some experience using screen readers and accessibility tools for web interactions.
  • Regression testing experience with a strong attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of Gitlab and issue tracking tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Personal or professional experience relating to blindness and sight loss is considered an asset.
  • Personal or professional experience working with assistive technology and/or accessible environments is considered an asset.
