Job Title: Special Project Assistant - Institutional Repository -PROJECT: Migration Preparation (D-H) Author Disambiguation

Reports to: Repository Supervisor

Hour of work: 13 hours

Hourly Rate: $16.20

Classification: AMUSE A

Duration: September 2, 2025- December 24, 2025

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Repository Supervisor, the student assistants will prepare faculty author profiles for migration. They will identify and collect variant forms of researcher names present in the institutional repository (eScholarship) to facilitate disambiguation of researcher names. Once this stage is completed, they will investigate ORCID iD statuses in order to compile profiles for Researcher Entity creation in DSpace, a required feature for ORCID implementation in the new IR.

Required skills:Proficiency with MS Office, Excel in particular. Experience with numerous citation styles (APA, Chicago, etc.). Basic understanding of Adobe Acrobat Pro is an asset.


Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities:English (spoken, read, and written) and French (written and read). McGill University is an English-language university where day-to-day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level # (3) on a scale of 0-4. Other languages an asset.
