Join our team of event professionals who set, execute and strike over 350 Special Events a year right in the heart of the Art Gallery of Ontario. You will literally be surrounded by art as you work. Working as part of the team who make peoples visions a reality, creating amazing unique experiences for guests while simultaneously helping to support art through Special Event execution.

Located in Toronto, the Art Gallery of Ontario (\xe2\x80\x9cthe AGO\xe2\x80\x9d) is one of the largest art museums in North America, with a collection of close to 100,000 works. Through the collection as well as collaborations with leading museums around the world, the AGO presents wide-ranging exhibitions and programs to approximately 1 million visitors annually.

We are currently seeking an Occasional Part-Time, Special Events Porter to join our Food & Beverage-Banquet team. Under the direction of the Event Operations & Service Manager, the incumbent will as directed, assist with event set ups and break downs utilizing AGO event equipment. As required, assists with event supplier deliveries.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications, skills, and experience:
  • Directly related experience doing event set ups within a similar event operation.
  • Working knowledge of hospitality practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of quality event equipment within a \xe2\x80\x9csecure\xe2\x80\x9d institutional environment preferred.
  • Well-developed communication skills (verbal and written)
