Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Spanish-speaking Home Support Worker to provide essential care and support to individuals in their homes. The ideal candidate will have experience in patient care and a strong understanding of the unique needs of clients, including those with developmental disabilities, dementia, or Alzheimer's. This role requires a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients through compassionate assistance and support.

Responsibilities

Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Provide patient observation and monitoring to ensure safety and well-being. Support clients with mobility needs, including the use of Hoyer lifts when necessary. Maintain a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping tasks. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements. Administer medications as prescribed and assist with care plans under the guidance of healthcare professionals. Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation. Document vital signs and any changes in client condition while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance client comfort and well-being.

Requirements

Proficiency in Spanish is required for effective communication with clients. Previous experience in home health, assisted living, or long-term care settings is preferred. Knowledge of patient care techniques including CPR, First Aid, and vital sign monitoring. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or memory care needs is highly desirable. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed for client assistance. Familiarity with caregiving responsibilities including meal preparation, cleaning, and direct support services. A background in social work or nursing is a plus but not mandatory.
