ThinkOn is expanding its Infrastructure Planning and Implementation Team team! Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure Planning and Implementation, the Solutions Engineer is responsible for operational procedures and availability for level three projects. This resource will the main \xe2\x80\x9clocal expert\xe2\x80\x9d for the assigned products and systems within ThinkOn environment. ThinkOn is a remote-first organization. At this time, we are welcoming candidates from Canada for this position. You Will: - Coordinate and own all issues escalated beyond level 2
- Work effectively with cross-functional teams, mentoring and providing technical leadership to level 2 team members
- Have the ability to discern key aspects of a problem and address them at an early state by determining the best resolution
- Effectively communicate to all parties involved
- Manage the Storage systems: storage administration, manage and deploy Hitachi G and E series, HPe MSA, Tintri, Lenovo, NetApp and Cohesity, Fibre channel switching on Brocade platform administration (including deployment, zoning, and storage allocation).
- Manage and support the network-based storage (iSCSI and NFS)
- Manage and deploy backup storage like Cohesity and Dell Data Domain.
- Responsible for perimeter security and Open-source load balancers
- Responsible for ObjectStore (Cloudian, Dell ECS and Hitachi Content Platform)
- Manage and deploy Tape Library
- Write deployment, operation, and support documentation
- Determine and conduct regular benchmark standards for object storage
- Provide complex system problem support, troubleshooting and problem analysis for different hardware and software components within ThinkOn systems
- Maintain close interactions with all technical and project related teams within ThinkOn, customers and vendors
- System deployment, integration and support activities for PDLC
- Identify and develop critical alerts and signals for monitoring (Zabbix, SNMP)
- Provide on call support for production systems
- Infrastructure deployment, operation and support
- Delivery of systems and solutions to customers
- Support engineer
- Other duties as assigned You Have: - Experience with administration and support of S3 Solutions, Linux OS, SAN FC Fabric, virtual machines on VMware environment, tape library, and support of backup solutions
- 3+ years of operational experience managing Storage and Backup Solutions
- 3+ years of operational experience with Backup Solutions and Linux/Unix OS
- 3+ years of operational experience with Dell, Hitachi, HPe or other vendors Solution
- 3+ years experience with Brocades SAN Switches and Network-Based protocols like iSCSI and NFS
- 2+ years of operational experience with Cloud environments
- 3+ years of fibre channel-based storage administration
- Solid understanding of routing and switching concepts and technology
- Experience in a 24/7/365, multi-tiered large-scale production environment.
