ThinkOn is expanding its Subscriber Managed Services team.* Reporting to the Director, Custom Managed Services, the Solutions Engineer* is responsible for operational procedures and availability for Level Three projects. The Solutions Engineer will be the main \xe2\x80\x9clocal expert\xe2\x80\x9d for the assigned products and systems within the ThinkOn Environment ThinkOn is a remote-first organization. At this time, we are welcoming candidates from Canada & the US for this position. You Will: - Coordinate and own all issues escalated beyond Level Two
- Work effectively with cross-functional teams, mentoring and providing technical leadership to Level Two team members
- Responsible for the Object Storage and Backup platforms o Concentration will be in the areas of Dell ECS and Data Domain services initially as well as backup solutions like Avamar and Networker
- Coordinate and own Level 3 projects and implementations pertaining to your assigned products/systems
- Produce and maintain documentation for system deployment, operation, and support
- Provide complex system problem support, troubleshooting, and problem analysis for different hardware and software components within ThinkOn systems
- Maintain close interactions with all technical and project related teams within ThinkOn, customers, and vendors
- Perform system deployment, integration, and support activities for PDLC
- Provide on-call support for production systems
- Perform other related duties as assigned You Have: - 3+ years of operational experience with Storage and Backup solutions
- 3+ years of operational experience with Data Domain
- 1+ years of operational experience with Dell ECS
- 2+ years of operational experience with Cloud environments
- 3+ years of fibre channel-based storage administration
- Solid understanding of routing and switching concepts and technology.
- Experience in a 24/7/365, multi-tiered large-scale production environment
- Experience with administration and support of VMware ESXi
- Experience with implementation and/or design of backup and replication solutions (i.e., Avamar, Networker, DataDomain, and ECS)
- Experience implementing and/or maintaining Cloud environments.
- SOC or ISO audit/control experience pertaining to environment security is an asset.
- NSX experience is an asset
- Ability to discern key aspects of a problem and address them at an early state by determining the best resolution
