Term: The term of the Agreement will start ASAP through October 31, 2023 with the possibility of a 1 year extension.

Role Summary:

eHealth Saskatchewan (eHealth) is currently looking for a Solutions Architect to support the IT infrastructure and technical requirements of multiple major capital construction and renovation based projects. The Solutions Architect's responsibilities will include supporting multiple complex projects simultaneously, with many stakeholders and many complex needs. The Solutions Architect will report to the Director of Major Capital Construction and will lead the detailed development of the technical solutions to meet the needs of the projects. This is a highly visible, busy, and challenging role that will be focused on supporting major capital construction projects. This position has the capacity to work remotely.

This role is to support major capital construction and renovation projects for the health system in Saskatchewan.

  • This role is to recommend and design solutions to meet the technology needs of the clients and users for major projects, in alignment with provincial standards
  • Specifically this position is responsible for integrating provincial design and standards for major projects with respect to:
  • Data center network components
  • All office and facility based network and wireless components
  • Provincial network connectivity between facilities
  • Network Security and design to eHS Security policy requirements
  • Unified communication and video conferencing
  • End User Devices
  • The successful proponent will work with the provincial teams to align with all provincial standards.
Detailed Requirements

eHealth is currently looking for one (1) Solutions Architect resource. The individual will be assigned tasks and responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following mandatory requirements:

Role Summary:
  • Assist in leading projects from a technical focused viewpoint by providing solution analysis, planning, and design
  • Design, test and inspect data communication systems
  • Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to assist in defining business requirements
  • Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house systems
  • Develop test plans, implementation plans and project timelines for various projects
  • Provide architectural expertise, and collaborate with other Solution Architects, Software Developers and IT Operations within the wider Information Technology Team
  • Coordination of other provincial team members and integrating of designs and artifacts to meet project requirements.
  • Document and monitor requirements needed to institute new solutions.
  • Account for possible project challenges on constraints including, risks, time, resources and scope based on design directions.
  • Work closely with project/program management teams to successfully scope prospective projects.
  • Provide detailed specifications for proposed solutions including pricing and costing, as well as end-to-end design considerations.
  • Coordinate reviews, including end-user reviews and systems technical performance reviews, to confirm and validate requirements.
  • Consider full software and hardware lifecycles and reflect total cost of ownership in solution designs.
  • Candidate must be available to work full-time and may be required for site visits in different locations within Saskatchewan.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. A combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
  • Prefer at least 5-10 years proven experience in the field
  • TOGAF or other Enterprise Architecture certification is an advantage
  • Previous experience supporting IT infrastructure in major capital construction projects is an asset
  • Previous project management experience is advantageous.
  • Must possess advanced communication skills and be capable of translating complex technical solutions into business focused language
  • Must have strong organizational skills
  • Must be capable of working independently
  • Previous experience in healthcare IT is an asset
