The team:

DevOps Technology Services & Operations team, as a part of Scotiabank\xe2\x80\x99s Global Technology & Enterprise Platforms\xe2\x80\x99 (GTEP) group, provides services that enable the bank\xe2\x80\x99s global community to plan, develop, build, and deliver software with high velocity, while continuing to meet Scotiabank\'s change-control & security objectives with the goal to provide best in class banking customer experience. The team plays a major role in Scotiabank\xe2\x80\x99s strategic programs to deliver applications to critical Private & Public Cloud infrastructure.

Overall team\xe2\x80\x99s mandate includes:

  • Service framework design and implementation guided by Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) best practices
  • Architectural Design; Engineering, Administration and Operations; as well as End-User Support and Training on the following:
  • Atlassian\xe2\x80\x99s Data Center (Crowd, Jira, Confluence & BitBucket)
  • CloudBees\xc2\xae Jenkins
  • JFrog Artifactory
  • SonarSource SonarQube
The role:

You will be providing architectural/design services and subject matter expertise to ensure overall DevOps platform\xe2\x80\x99s stability, reliability, performance, and scalability through the following:
  • Plan and lead the implementation of tools\xe2\x80\x99 redesign/improvements/upgrades/migrations, including the underlying infrastructure, guiding the technical team as needed;
  • Creating and maintaining tools\xe2\x80\x99 roadmaps and assist Product Owner and the team in prioritizing the engineering backlog;
  • Proactively engaging and keeping a continuous conversation with the tools\xe2\x80\x99 vendors regarding the best practices and tuning as applied to our Bank\xe2\x80\x99s environments and user community; and
  • Assist and coach the technical team in root cause analysis and problem management for complex incidents and recurring issues including defining preventive measures and tracking their implementation\xe2\x80\x99s completion.
When required, you must be available to respond to 3rd level support during incidents & participate in pre-scheduled implementations during evenings and weekends.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?
  • You possess excellent communication (verbal/written) skills. Furthermore, you also have very good interpersonal skills to build relationships with the team; as well as with the internal / external business partners and vendors.
  • You have excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage own\xe2\x80\x99s time and understand the priority of tasks as per team\xe2\x80\x99s goals.
  • You have at least 10+ years of hands-on technical working experience as a subject matter expert (SME)/Architect in the DevOps & CI/CD technologies and tools areas.
  • You have at least 8+ years of hands-on technical working experience with the architecture, administration, and underlying infrastructure design of ATLASSIAN DATA CENTER (Crowd, Jira, Confluence & Bitbucket).
  • You have at least 5+ years of hands-on technical working experience with the architecture, administration, and underlying infrastructure design of CloudBees\xc2\xae Jenkins.
  • You have at least 5+ years of hands-on technical working experience with the architecture, administration, and underlying infrastructure design of JFrog Artifactory.
  • You can demonstrate hands-on technical working experience in
solutions for Atlassian Data Center in a large enterprise technology setting.
  • You can demonstrate
