Zinc8 Energy Solutions is developing a range of energy storage products based on a novel zinc-air flow battery technology. An expanding market for these products exists in utility, commercial, industrial, microgrid and similar applications. With powerful backing and a committed engineering nucleus, Zinc8 is expanding its product development team to capitalize on this rare opportunity.
Overview: We are looking for an enthusiastic Software Test Engineer to join our experienced Software team. To be successful in this role, candidates need to demonstrate their familiarity with C++, experience developing in a real time environment, as well as experience developing and testing hardware prototype.
Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct testing and verification for a real-time distributed control system for an advanced energy storage application
• Install and configure the development environment
• Prepare plans for functional, performance and lifetime testing
• Perform regression testing of system builds
• Prepare design documentation for internal and external customers
• Perform fault isolation and defect tracking
• Participate in code review sessions
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Software Engineering
• 3 years’ experience in Firmware development in a real-time environment
• Experience with the design and documentation of a distributed control system
• Experience with hardware prototype development and testing
• Competence in development of C++ code in an object-oriented environment
• Must be fluent in English with excellent communication skills

Desirable Qualifications:

• Proven ability to deliver embedded systems into volume production
• Experience with the control of pumps, motors, sensors and alarms
• Experience in supporting volume products through a customer service organization
• Experience in using code control systems such as SVN
• Familiarity with developing embedded software on Texas Instruments or similar MCU’s
• Exposure to TI Code Composer
• Appreciation of software development procedures and disciplines
