About the Team Today\xe2\x80\x99s CFOs have an eye on more than just the bottom line. They are watching the horizon, predicting what is coming, and charting the course ahead. Workday technology enables our customers to plan, complete, analyze for finance, HR, planning and analytics in one system. The Workday Analytics platform is powering our financial reporting and analytics capabilities.

As part of Workday\xe2\x80\x99s Prism Analytics team, you will be responsible for crafting and implementing techniques for high-performance query processing in support of big data analytics in the cloud. You will work with a top-notch team to implement features for parallel and distributed data processing engines. This includes developing efficient data structures and algorithms for massively parallel in-memory analytics, advanced techniques for distributed data processing, and integration with open-source distributed systems frameworks such as Spark. You will participate in the full life-cycle of software development and directly impact all the customers.

About the Role

You\'re an engineer who is passionate about data management and distributed data processing frameworks and algorithms. Performance, scalability, and reliability of these algorithms are constantly on your mind and looking to stay involved in these areas. You have the chops to build the infrastructure that powers high-performance data crunching on large volumes of data while ensuring simplicity and ease-\xc2\xadof\xc2\xad-use of the overall product. You enjoy the thrill of coming up with brilliant ideas and can articulate their value\xc2\xad-prop to partners but are most satisfied when you turn these ideas into solid high\xc2\xad quality implementations that make customers successful.

About You

We are open to hiring at either a Software Development Engineer or Senior Software Development Engineer level, depending on experience and skills of the selected candidate.

Basic Qualifications for Software Engineer

Software development experience in an object-oriented or functional language

3+ years experience in database internals, query processing, or distributed systems development

Other Qualifications

MS in Computer Science or related field and relevant software development experience or BS in Computer Science or related field and 3 years relevant software development experience

Query processing, and distributed systems experience

Linux expertise

Good grasp of SQL and distributed data processing
