Position Summary We are currently seeking applicants for the position of Sociology Instructor for BScN Program that starts in June 2024. One of our leading strengths, our diverse workforce enhances our ability to meet needs of our diverse student population. Your primary responsibility will include developing and delivering engaging curriculum content, facilitating classroom learning experiences, and evaluating student performance. We are looking for applicants for casual role. Key Accountabilities

  • Provide instruction in Sociology to students enrolled in a variety of post-secondary health programs.
  • Facilitate the development, implementation, revision, and maintenance of Sociology curriculum under the direction of the Director of Nursing.
  • Practice good interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Plan and deliver content and learning activities that reflect the values, beliefs, needs, and contributions of a culturally diverse community.
  • Utilize LMS for in person, online, and blended course delivery.
  • Follow academic regulations and policies adopted by Oulton College.
  • Work cooperatively with program coordinator and colleagues in an interdependent \xe2\x80\x9cteam\xe2\x80\x9d environment.
Key Selection Criteria The ideal candidate must hold:
  • Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Sociology in addition to a Master\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in a related field.
  • Two years recent/relevant successful post-secondary teaching experience in applying the theories, practices and principles of adult education in the classroom/laboratory setting.
  • Effective communication skills (oral and written).
  • Effective interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective instructional ability.
  • Ability to arrange, maintain and evaluate resources.
  • Demonstrated competence and recent experience in the use of the internet, e-mail, MS Office Suite software and ability to learn and adapt to changing technology.
  • Ability to function as a team member in an ever-changing environment.
  • Demonstrates valuing diversity.
