This position is part of the centralized Rehabilitation and Allied Health Program responsible for the adult patient population and will support patients specifically who are within the social work team, concentrating services with the acute medicine unit service area, but will also have opportunities to learn and provide services to other clinical areas on the hospital campus as indicated. Description:

As a Social Worker II, you will be a member of an inter-disciplinary team and provides a range of social work services to patients and their families. Your services may include: psychosocial assessment, resource-based interventions, individual, group and family treatment, risk screening, counselling, case management and coordination, transition or discharge planning, and prevention, promotion and public awareness activities.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of bachelor\'s degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW). Additional Required Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have proven communication skills to work cooperatively and effectively with the healthcare team, patients and their families in a fast-paced environment. Minimum 1-2 years experience working as an RSW in a medical setting. The candidate will hold working knowledge of the health care system and community resources. Current Basic Life Support (BLS-HCP) certification is required. Demonstrated clarity in your communication, organization and consistency of ideas, both verbally and written, including clinical documentation, is required. You must be a highly motivated, confident, and enthusiastic individual with a positive attitude whose work aligns with AHS Values. You must be able to act quickly and decisively using critical thinking and problem-solving skills. You can work independently and as a part of the team creating strong, effective interpersonal working relationships with peers and other caregivers. You are a reliable worker who uses time effectively and can prioritize and complete assigned tasks. You have effective teaching skills for students and other professionals. Preferred Qualifications:

Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint is preferred. Familiarity with Netcare, Connect Care and/or principles of electronic documentation are preferred. Master\'s Degree and psychosocial interventions are an asset.
