The Social Media Manager will join EQ Bank\xe2\x80\x99s content team within the Marketing Department, reporting to the Manager, Content Strategy. They will be primarily responsible for developing EQ Bank\xe2\x80\x99s presence on social. This includes planning, creating, and publishing daily social content, engaging with our audiences, defining and tracking key metrics, and reporting on market trends and insights.

The Social Media Manager will elevate EQ Bank\xe2\x80\x99s social content by creating original video, graphics, and catchy headlines that drive brand awareness and clicks. As the lead creator for social media, you are confident in writing, filming, and editing (and sometimes starring in!) Tiktoks or Reels that empower Canadians financially. You will work closely with the Creative Director and Product stakeholders to support objectives through engaging social content, while adhering to brand guidelines.

We\xe2\x80\x99re looking for someone who understands all the ins and outs of social, who stays on top of trends and channel best practices, can recommend optimal hashtags and posting times, is fluent online, and keeps up with the world of influencers. You have a proven track record of putting these skills to work, be it at an agency, in-house, with a small business, or as a personal creative project.

The Work!

  • Create daily social media posts, including original graphics, video, and copy; work with internal & external stakeholders to ensure all assets meet brand guidelines and legal requirements
  • Work closely with stakeholders across the organization to support business and communications objectives through best-in-class organic social content
  • Ideate on exciting and innovative new social media campaigns to spread the word about EQ Bank and build our community on social
  • Manage content calendar and publishing; plan quarterly content and update the content calendar on a daily/weekly basis
  • Track and measure content performance, build analytics reports for peers and leadership with actionable insights on how to optimize content; help define KPIs and assist in social strategy development
  • Lead community management on social platforms; build community by engaging regularly with our audience and keep a finger on the pulse of overall sentiment and consumer insights on social and forums

Let\'s Talk About You!

  • 2-5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in content creation or social media management
  • Content creation skills \xe2\x80\x93 including extensive experience producing agile social creative, like Instagram graphics on Canva or Tiktoks shot on a phone
  • Outstanding communication skills; you\xe2\x80\x99re excited to be a face of EQ Bank on social and to help explain complex financial information into easy-to-understand videos
  • Copywriting; you can write compelling captions that drive people to click the link in bio or adapt a blog post into an Instagram carousel
  • Experience with social media tools such as Sprout Social, Later, Hootsuite, etc.
  • Reporting & Analytics; you\xe2\x80\x99re obsessed with analyzing content performance and testing new optimizations so that every post outperforms the last
  • Project management; you use open communication to manage deliverables and meet fast-moving deadlines
  • You stay on top of social and cultural trends, using these insights to inform the way a brand shows up online
  • You\xe2\x80\x99re a keen collaborator with a curious mind; you love swapping ideas with other creatives and marketers and learning more about what makes people tick
  • Have experience using Adobe Creative Cloud programs (ie. Photoshop, Premiere Pro, AfterEffects), iMovie / FinalCut, or Figma
