Purpose:
Reporting to the Manager, Graduate Communications & Recruitment for the Office of the Dean, Faculty of Graduate Studies, the Social Media & Engagement Assistant will support the development and execution of social media campaigns. The successful incumbent will also support the creation of multimedia content such as photos, videos. The Social Media & Engagement Assistant will support the planning of social initiatives and marketing events as well as prepare a variety of communication materials.
Education:
3rd or 4th year undergraduate student. Preferred Programs of Study: Communication & Social Studies, Cinema & Media Studies, Design, Digital Media, Film Production, Visual Art.
Experience:
-Previous communications experience required including experience with content generation on social & digital media platforms. -Experience with social media management tools \xc3\xa2?? i.e., Sprout Social is an asset. Familiarity with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
Skills:
-The role requires demonstrated competency in the use of editing software and a variety of computer applications as well as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere Pro). -Proficiency in photography, videography and animation. -Ability to perform online searches, gather and organize information, attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent communications skills to creatively draft content are required.
