We are seeking a reliable and experienced Snow Plow Operator to efficiently clear snow and ice from designated roadways, parking lots, and walkways during winter months. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of snow removal equipment and safety procedures, ensuring safe and timely operations to maintain accessibility and safety for the community or business premises. This role requires physical stamina, mechanical aptitude, and familiarity with construction and maintenance tools to perform various related tasks as needed.
Responsibilities
Operate snow plow trucks and related equipment to remove snow and ice from roads, parking lots, sidewalks, and other designated areas.
Conduct pre-operation inspections of plow vehicles to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance.
Apply salt or de-icing materials as necessary to prevent ice buildup.
Perform routine maintenance on snow removal equipment, including minor repairs using hand tools or power tools.
Assist with general landscaping, gardening, or horticulture tasks during off-season periods if required.
Maintain accurate records of work performed and report any equipment issues or safety hazards promptly.
Follow all safety protocols related to mechanical operation, construction sites, irrigation systems, and landscape maintenance.
Skills
Proven experience operating snow plows or similar heavy machinery such as excavators.
Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting minor equipment issues and performing routine maintenance.
Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and construction-related equipment used in landscape maintenance or horticulture projects.
Knowledge of irrigation systems, gardening practices, and landscape maintenance is a plus.
Strong understanding of safety procedures related to mechanical operation, construction sites, and outdoor work environments.
Ability to work in adverse weather conditions with physical stamina for extended periods outdoors.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely for safe operation of equipment.
