Job Overview: Snow-Plow Operator / Landscaping Crew Member
The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining safe commercial properties and high-end residential homes during winter weather conditions.
You will be responsible for driving the company plow-truck and transporting necessary equipment and team-members to various residential and commercial properties. Your primary task is to work collaboratively with your team to complete snow removal services efficiently, delivering high-quality results to our customers - and prioritizing safety above all.
Key Responsibilities:
Teamwork:
Meet up with the rest of the crew at the designated meet-up location each day, where you will pick up the truck and necessary equipment.
Route Planning & Execution:
Review the day's work list, including scheduled residential homes, plazas, and commercial properties, before departing to complete the list.
Driving & Transportation:
Drive the truck to each property, working in close coordination with the shoveler to ensure tasks are completed quickly. You and your partner will work together to move from one property to the next.
Winter Operations:
During the winter months, you may have standby periods when snow removal is not required. However, you will be compensated for this time, and when snow events occur, you will receive a call to head out, meet-up, and tackle the snow removal list.
Equipment Maintenance:
Ensure the truck and equipment are properly maintained, clean, and ready for daily use. Return the truck and equipment at the end of the day to the meet-up location.
Safety Practices:
Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents while operating heavy machinery, heavy vehicles, and transporting team members in adverse weather conditions.
This role requires previous experience with snow removal , mechanical knowledge, and/or the ability to operate various types of equipment effectively. The Snow Plow Operator will play a crucial role in
ensuring the safety
of our community during snow events.
Qualifications
Experience with snow-plowing, snow-removal, and salting for residential and/or commercial properties.
Customer friendly - you're able to speak to customers professionally, redirect their concerns, and answer frequently asked questions.
Familiarity with landscape maintenance is a plus, including the ability to build and maintain garden areas - this will increase the probability of moving forward with us for the spring, summer and year round work.
Ability to work long hours during winter storms, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
A valid G-driver's license is required.
An Ontario Driver's Abstract.
References as required.*
Compensation:
There is a $1500 monthly standby fee provided for the first month of training, with an increase to $2000 for the remaining months.
Additional Compensation:
Additional $200 compensation for on-call shifts for more than 10 snow shifts per month.
