On Point Landscaping Inc. is an established company who has served the Niagara Region for 8 years! We are currently hiring experienced snow crew members to join our team, as well as a shop hand. We offer very competitive rates and pay is based on your experience.

If you have mechanical experience with compact construction equipment and other vehicles, there is an opportunity to work in the shop, performing oil changes, vehicle maintenance, and small repairs.

Duties/Responsibilities

Snow and Ice Removal:

Shovel snow from sidewalks, walkways, stairs, entryways, and bus stops using hand shovels, snow blowers, or push brooms.

De-icing:

Spread salt, sand, or other de-icing materials as directed to ensure safe walking surfaces.

Equipment Operation:

Operate small snow removal equipment such as walk-behind snow blowers, sidewalk machines (small tractors or skid steers), and salt spreaders.

Safety Adherence:

Follow all safety guidelines, protocols, and municipal bylaws during operations.

Maintenance and Reporting:

Perform routine pre- and post-operation inspections and maintenance checks on equipment and report any malfunctions or damage to supervisors.

Coordination:

Work as part of a crew, coordinating actions with other team members and machine operators.

Availability:

Maintain on-call availability throughout the winter season, including weekends and holidays, and respond promptly to snowfall events.

Requirements and Qualifications

Physical Stamina:

The role is physically demanding, requiring the ability to perform heavy labor, including lifting and maneuvering equipment (often 50 pounds or more) for extended periods in cold and windy weather conditions.

Reliable Transportation:

Requires reliable personal transportation to the shop (no public transportation available).

Driver's License (often preferred):

A valid G license with a clear abstract is mandatory, and a valid AZ or DZ license is an asset.

Experience (an asset):

Previous snow removal or outdoor labour experience is an asset, but comprehensive on-the-job training is often provided.

Communication:

Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and report to supervisors.

Job Type: Seasonal
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: $18.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 70 per week
