Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centred clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Position Overview

The Slating Clerk – Diagnostic Services strives to provide the highest possible standard of service for patients, public, medical and hospital staff. The Slating Clerk, Diagnostic Services schedules patients and appointments for Diagnostic Services examinations.

Experience

• Two (2) years experience in a hospital or clinic setting
• One (1) year experience in scheduling patients’ procedures/tests
• One (1) year experience with Diagnostic Services scheduling systems and application within the last five (5) years

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

• Grade 12 education (MB Standards)
• Completion of a recognized medical terminology course or program, Level I and II (or equivalent)
• Evidence of attending continuing education and/or in-services

• Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint), as well as Internet applications, and computer skills related to an electronic health record environment
• Demonstrated organizational skills, and the ability to work independently

• Demonstrated flexibility to facilitate changes in techniques and procedures
• Ability to display independent judgment
• Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population
