to join our forestry and land clearing operations in the Fort McMurray, AB area. This role requires excellent chainsaw skills. You will be responsible for the controlled felling of timber, ensuring trees are dropped accurately to protect equipment, standing timber, and site boundaries.
Responsibilities
Execute controlled felling of trees using professional-grade chainsaws, assessing lean, wind, and hazards to ensure accurate placement.
Perform limbing and bucking of trees into merchantable lengths as per project specifications.
Assist in the movement of debris and "slash" to keep the work area clear and safe for heavy machinery
Always ensure safe work practices and identify terrain risks, overhead hazards, and weather-related dangers.
Perform daily mechanical checks
Requirements
Minimum 3 years of experience in manual directional felling within a logging, seismic, or industrial clearing environment.
Strong knowledge of chainsaw mechanics, including felling cuts, limbing, bucking, and "danger tree" removal.
Ability to read and interpret site maps and adhere strictly to ribbon/flagging boundaries.
Must be fit-for-duty
Must pass pre-employment alcohol and drug test including cannabis
