The Skate Park Mentor plays a vital role in creating a safe and engaging environment for skateboarders of all skill levels. This position involves supervising park activities, educating participants on safety practices, and fostering a positive community atmosphere. The ideal candidate will have a passion for skateboarding and possess strong communication skills to effectively interact with park users.
Duties
Supervise park activities to ensure the safety of all participants.
Educate users on proper skateboarding techniques, as well as safety protocols.
Enforce park rules and regulations to maintain a respectful environment.
Assist in organizing events, workshops, or competitions to promote community engagement.
Provide first aid assistance as needed and ensure emergency procedures are followed.
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the skate park facilities.
Encourage positive interactions among users and foster a sense of community.
Requirements
Strong knowledge of skateboarding riding is required.
Excellent communication skills to effectively educate and interact with park users.
Experience working with youth or in recreational settings is desirable.
Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
A commitment to promoting safety and inclusivity within the skate park environment.
Pass a criminal records check and Child Abuse Registry check.
