We're looking for a Senior Site Reliability Expert to join our Lightspeed Retail Team Platform team in North America. Our platform team is responsible for the success of the developers, design, build and operate Lightspeed's product infrastructure. We collaborate with teams across the company to make this happen: devs, QA, PMs, architects, IT, Data team, aEURWith Lightspeed Retail, you'll build software solutions that provide merchants all of the tools that they need to thrive in the market. You'll join a product development team that believes in continuously delivering value, while following software engineering best practices and building robust, scalable solutions for our customers.

For this role, you should be located in Canada, and able to work within EST/EDT hours. We offer a choice of fully remote, partially remote or fully office-based work environments (in cities with local offices).

What you'll be responsible for

  • Initiate and contribute to continuous improvement of our software delivery processes and practices in a multi-location, multidisciplinary team to empower and accelerate product development
  • Use automation extensively to design, configure, manage, and monitor systems in support of our product development teams
  • Design and architect operational solutions with the specific goal of increasing the standardization, automation, repeatability, cost-efficiency and consistency of operational tasks
  • Working with developers and other SRE to design and build scalable, reliable and cost-efficient Cloud infrastructure
  • Adhere to and advocate for best practices, including Infrastructure as Code, monitoring, high availability, disaster recovery, security, and DevOps methodologies
  • Provide timely assistance and remediation solutions during critical situations and production incidents to help resolve service problems (You will be on call for periods of time)
What you'll be bringing to the team
  • Strong knowledge of Amazon Web Services
  • Strong experience with Docker, Kubernetes & Linux Systems
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform
  • Experience with configuration management tools such as Helm, Chef
  • Experience with Infrastructure as code practices: Crossplane, Terraform
  • Ability to read & write code: Bash, Python, Ruby, Go, PHPaEUR
  • Good understanding of Agile development and continuous delivery best practices, software engineering tools, processes, methods and testing
  • Ability to partner effectively with other teams
  • Ability to plan, organize, prioritize and stay focused
  • Good experience provisioning and managing infrastructures with high availability constraints
  • Good experience with cloud cost optimization
