As a Site Reliability Engineer III, you\xe2\x80\x99ll provide exceptional monitoring, support, and engineering solutions for critical applications, empowering our Agile Release Trains with the infrastructure, tools, and practices required for autonomous, quality, scalable, and reliable application delivery in our intrapreneurial environment. You\xe2\x80\x99ll oversee and mentor other cross-functional members, including software development, debugging, and troubleshooting code, infrastructure integration, and security. DevOps teams and business and technology stakeholders will be your partners in delivering services quickly and effectively to end users.

At WorkSafeBC, we offer a hybrid work model that combines the convenience of working remotely with the dynamism of working in one of our offices, based on the operational needs of the position.

This is a hybrid position where there will be a rotational in-office component.

What you\'ll do

As a Site Reliability Engineer III, you will:

  • Ensure the reliability and sustainability of business applications by monitoring & support, automating repetitive tasks, and standardizing and implementing Service Level Indicators/Objectives.
  • Advocate the practice of reliability and sustainability by overseeing staff and consultants to organize on-call schedules, assigning tasks and providing technical guidance, coaching and mentoring to team members, and fostering learning and development.
  • Maintain close relationships with DevOps teams, business users, product owners, architects, and platform teams.
  • Work closely with release and QA leads to maintain awareness of production deployments to ensure the stability of supported systems.
  • Work closely with CSEs to ensure critical applications can exceed expected peak load without performance degradation.
  • Act as a bridge between platforms and development, providing feedback from live production that can inform better application design and development.
  • Implement and optimize monitoring systems tailored explicitly for critical applications.

Your background and experience
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math)
  • A minimum of 6 years of equivalent work experience in IT, inclusive of:
  • A minimum of 4 years\xe2\x80\x99 relevant IT work experience with agile methodologies, Cloud and DevOps environments, continuous IT process improvement, production support and problem resolution, analysis, and/or technical proficiency, networking, and knowledge of a breadth of tools and approaches to solve broad spectrum of problems.

Salary: $57.56 - $63.59/hourly
