Position Summary:
This position reports to the Senior Director of Operations and oversees operations at the site. The position is responsible for all aspects of resident care, safety and quality of life experience at the site. This will include leading and supporting the care team to consistently deliver high quality, resident centered care, ensuring that care is compliant with all governing standards and regulations, managing the site operational budget within funded activity, ensuring that contracted service providers are fulfilling their obligations and ensuring that operational objectives and plans are effectively implemented.
Primary Role and Responsibility:
1. Leadership & Culture

• Provides staff and volunteers with clear goals, meaningful feedback, and growth opportunities.
• Supports sustainable learning and change at the point-of-care level.
2. Operational & Clinical Excellence
• Develops and executes work plans aligned with organizational goals.
• Monitors performance metrics, identifies gaps and implements quality improvements.
• Ensures compliance with legislation, policies, and contract agreements.
• Investigate incidents, manage complaints, and mitigate risks.
3. Resident & Family Engagement
• Fosters open communication with residents and families.
• Supports an effective Resident and Family Council.
• Represents Covenant Care in the community and with stakeholders.
4. Collaboration & Partnerships
• Works closely with internal and external partners to enhance care and service delivery.
• Engages in research and quality improvement initiatives.
• Manages HR processes, including investigations and performance management.
5. Financial & Resource Stewardship
• Oversees site operations within budgeted resources.
• Monitors expenditures, mitigates variances and ensures cost-effective resource allocation.
• Contributes to budget planning and financial reporting.
Qualifications:
Formal Education
• Undergraduate degree in healthcare or a related field with a master's degree preferred.
• Equivalencies may be considered.
Experience
• Minimum of five years of leadership/management experience is a healthcare related setting.
Special Knowledge & Skills
• Interpersonal skills with an ability to deal effectively with conflict in a diplomatic and professional manner. It also requires the ability to communicate in all forms (reading, writing, clear verbal articulation and active listening) to implement recommendations and develop plans and procedures in accordance with Covenant policies and procedures and also with applicable legislation.
• Proven ability to build and maintain interpersonal and interdisciplinary relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• The ability to use excellent professional judgment and to act as a mentor, leader and role model to all staff. A keen eye for detail and the ability to multi task are also required.
• Experience with all facets of human resources.
• Flexibility to travel for meetings and for operational requirements as required.
