When you volunteer at the Canadian Cancer Society you have real impact. It takes all of us to take on cancer. Volunteer with us at one of our signature events in your community on event day. You can choose a specific role and shift(s) based on availability. You can also assist us when we need event support on an on-call basis in your own community.
Description
Le Gala des Grands Chefs will take place on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Espace Paddock, located at 200 Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.

The role includes the following tasks:

Encourage Bidding

: Spark interest among guests, talk about the auction items, and motivate people to place bids. Keep the energy and excitement going throughout the evening.

Answer Questions

: Be available to inform guests about how the silent auction works, how to place bids, what items are available, and when the auction closes.

Assist CCS staff

with payments and distribution of auction items at the end of the event.

Provide a Positive Experience

: Greet guests warmly, guide them through the bidding process, and respond to their needs with courtesy.


Training will be provided on-site.
Why we need you
The Silent Auction Volunteer will engage with guests to promote the silent auction during the event during the event, contributing directly to fundraising that will support people living with cancer. Your friendly, persuasive manner and enthusiasm will encourage guests to participate in the auction, creating excitement and maximizing bids,
What we're looking forFriendly, outgoing personality with strong communication skills. Ability to engage guests and explain auction details clearly and persuasively. Comfortable electronic payments securely and accurately. Professional demeanour and ability to work in a busy event setting. Experience in customer service, sales, or fundraising is a plus. Volunteers must be 18+.
