Position Summary



We are seeking a dependable and motivated Shop Hand / Driver to join our production team. This hands-on role supports daily shop operations, including regular facility and shop upkeep, while assisting with shipping and receiving activities as needed. The ideal candidate is organized, mechanically inclined, and capable of performing a variety of physical and technical tasks across the production floor. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of shop work, equipment handling, and logistics support in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
A valid forklift operator's license and a clean Class 5 driver's license are required.

Key Responsibilities



Shop Hand / Driver Responsibilities:



Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop, yard, and facility, including regular sweeping, garbage removal, and general housekeeping. Keep machine shop, yard areas, walkways, and common spaces tidy and free of debris. Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of tools, equipment, and work areas. Support overall facility upkeep, including outdoor areas, parking lots, and storage spaces. Assist machinists, welders, and production staff with staging materials, moving parts, deburring, and other general labour tasks. Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, pallet jacks, and material-handling equipment safely and responsibly. Prepare parts for production, including basic painting, polishing, or engraving as needed. Assist other departments with general labour or material handling tasks as required. Pick, pack, and prepare shipments, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation. Build and assemble crates, skids, and packaging for outbound materials. Load and unload trucks safely; verify incoming and outgoing shipments. Receive, sort, and organize incoming stock and materials. Deliver and pick up tools, materials, and parts using a company vehicle while maintaining professional conduct.

Education & Experience:



2-4 years of experience in a shop or shipping-related role. Valid forklift operator's license. Valid Class 5 driver's license. Driver's abstract must be provided during the hiring process. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and time management abilities. Dependable, adaptable, and able to work both independently and in a team setting. Schedule & Compensation



Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Overtime: Available as needed, including some Saturdays Benefits: Available after a 90-day probation period
