Shop Hand / Delivery Driver

to our team.

Position Overview

As a Shop Hand / Delivery Driver, you will play a key role in both the production and distribution sides of our operations. This dual-role position includes working in the shop to fulfill metal orders, operate machinery, maintain inventory, and keep the workspace organized -- as well as delivering products to customers using a 1-ton pickup truck and 25' gooseneck trailer.

This role is ideal for someone who is mechanically inclined, has towing experience, and enjoys a hands-on, physically active job in a team-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

Shop Duties:

Operate metal manufacturing equipment (training provided) Read and follow order sheets and shop drawings Stock shelves, take inventory, and restock materials as needed Perform basic machine maintenance Operate forklifts for loading/unloading (training provided if necessary) Keep the shop and yard clean and well-organized Lift and move materials manually when required

Delivery Duties:

Safely deliver products using a 1-ton pickup truck and 25' gooseneck trailer Load and unload materials at customer sites Ensure accurate and timely deliveries Represent Five Star Metals professionally when interacting with customers

Qualifications & Skills

Proven experience towing trailers over 20' in length (mandatory; testing required) Experience operating forklifts is an asset (training provided) Experience working in a shop or with machinery is an asset Ability to read shop drawings and work orders Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Comfortable working independently or as part of a team Physically fit with the ability to lift heavy materials when needed Reliable, safety-conscious, and self-motivated

Pay: $18.00-$25.00 per hour
