The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for coordinating the movement of materials, finished goods, and supplies in and out of the facility. This includes receiving incoming shipments, verifying quantities and quality, organizing inventory, and preparing outgoing orders for delivery or pick-up. At Paragraph, the clerk plays a key role in ensuring that printed products are packaged correctly, labeled accurately, and shipped on time to meet client deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
Receive incoming shipments (raw materials, paper stock, ink, etc.) and verify accuracy of packing slips, invoices, and purchase orders.
Inspect incoming goods for damage or quality issues and report discrepancies.
Accurately record inventory movements using internal systems (ERP software).
Prepare outgoing shipments of finished printed materials.
Coordinate with courier services, freight companies, and internal drivers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
Maintain organization and cleanliness of the shipping/receiving area.
Work closely with production, customer service, and warehouse teams to meet tight shipping deadlines.
Track shipments and follow up on delivery issues as needed.
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely.
Assist with regular inventory counts and cycle counts.
Perform other duties as assigned to support the division's success.
Qualifications and Experience
Ensures accuracy in shipments, labeling, and documentation
Maintains a clean, well-structured workspace and manages multiple orders efficiently
Collaborates effectively with internal teams and external couriers
Meets tight shipping deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Identifies and addresses issues with shipments or inventory proactively
Adjusts to shifting priorities or last-minute changes in orders
Works cooperatively with production, warehouse, and customer service staff.
Candidate Profile
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 1-2 years in a shipping/receiving or warehouse role
Experience in a manufacturing or commercial printing environment is an asset
Basic computer skills (email, shipping software, inventory tracking).
Experience with ERP systems
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Comfortable standing and moving for extended periods
Forklift certification is an asset (or willingness to obtain)
French and/or English, spoken and written.
