Shipper/receiver & Warehouse Supervisor

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Shipping / Receiving & Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the preparation, checks and balances of documents related to shipping product out on transport trucks, receiving product, goods, and supplies for all departments, as well as inventory count tracking.

Main Responsibilities

  • Perform receipt checks, shipping preparation, and inventory management of raw materials, ingredients, packaging supplies, and other incoming and outgoing goods for all departments.
  • Oversee the tasks and duties of the Forklift Operator and the Shipping / Receiving Coordinator
  • Ensure that the quantities correspond to the receipt / shipment slip
  • Cross-check with computer software / Excel spreadsheets to ensure accuracy
  • Ensure shipping labels are correctly prepared and printed
  • Ensure proper documentation corresponds to shipping needs
  • Track inventory and report any shortages
  • Ensure daily logs are entered and filing is up to date
  • Ensure integrity of the products and the FIFO storage standards are being followed for rotating product
  • Receive order forms and ensure correct picking and preparation of product orders is completed
  • Ensure the safety of Forklift Operator by performing the inspections of forklift, pallet jack and other S/R equipment used.
  • Ensure S/R staff respect and comply with occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and procedures, and good manufacturing practices (GMPs)
  • Follow all Food Safety, HACCP, Quality and Operational procedures (SOPs) as defined in NMF's Quality Management System
  • Consistently monitor and enforce procedures as per NMF's Quality Management System and set an example for Food Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices
Qualifications, Skills, and Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, plus minimum one (1) year of relevant post secondary education
  • Valid forklift operator certification
  • Minimum two (2) years experience in warehouse work, forklift driving and truck loading/unloading
  • Proven team leadership skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office; outlook, excel etc.
  • Mastery of basic mathematical calculation and accurate counting
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English
  • Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude
  • Proactive problem-solver with confidence to present solutions
  • Knowledge of HACCP standards is an asset
  • Meticulous and detail-orientated with great organization and priority management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and timelines
  • Ability to work in a walk-in freezer storage environment for 5 - 10 minutes at a time
  • Ability to lift loads up to 50 lbs
  • Desire to lead the team within the Shipping Receiving & Inventory Department and work with all NMF departments.
