A growing and vital company, Flex-N-Gate provides a great opportunity for hard-working and skilled individuals.Scope of the PositionFlex-N-Gate, Ventra requires an experienced, knowledgeable, motivated and career-minded Shipper to ensures seamless processing of outgoing shipments and items. The Shipper understands the impact of this position to other business functions that depend on the accuracy and efficiency of outgoing items. Inventory management and vendor relations with shipping companies are essential functions for this position.Responsibilities

  • Process all required paperwork and maintain adequate records for reporting and tracking.
  • Maintain filing of shipping documents.
  • Prepare and schedule shipments as assigned.
  • Oversee the secure and accurate loading of deliveries.
  • Track shipments as required.
  • Manage inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
  • Perform quality audits of the condition of shipped goods prior to signing off.
  • Report discrepancies to immediate supervisor.
  • Ensure that shipments contain proper documentation and, if multiple items per shipment ensure item lists are complete.
  • Problem solve for any cases of missing documents
  • Maintain organized work area according to policies, procedures and safety regulations.
  • Analyze load sheets so as to be informed of the daily shipping requirements to organize their daily schedule.
  • Band, staple, and crate boxes to ensure that containers are shipped in the safest manner to maintain high quality standards.
  • Conduct a physical container inventory at the end of every calendar month to determine the month end shipping status.
  • Conduct a physical inventory of products in the shipping department at the beginning of every shift.
  • Develop and maintain open communication channels with the Company structure to ship efficiently for the betterment of the operation.
  • Document shipping information of materials and/or products in the shipper's logbook as required.
  • Follow safety regulations and actively participate in protecting themselves, their fellow workers and the plant from accidents.
  • Responsible for the general clean-up and housekeeping of the shipping/receiving department.
  • When Quality Assurance has released material, transfer to the appropriate storage area.
  • Provide inventory counts as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience in the industry preferred
  • Working experience in Shipper role preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to operate material handling equipment including lift truck
  • Able to communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Knowledge of filling out waybills and bills of landing and international shipments
  • Ability to weigh and measure items
  • Working knowledge of safe packing methods
  • Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently
  • Computer literacy, including working skills of Excel and e-mail
  • Attention to detail in all areas of work
  • Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
