Stores/Shipping/Receiver



If you like a job that is both important and hands on, with a lot of physical work but also mental acuity needed, then the Stores/Shipping/Receiver role is for you. This job exists to receive, inspect, approve or reject, store, and distribute the various items received to run our hotel. The Stores/Shipping/Receiver also will issue food, beverages, supplies, and operating equipment in accordance with established procedures so that the guest gets what they need on timely basis. Also under your control is the storeroom - your turf - which you maintain in a clean, orderly and efficient fashion to ensure your hotel gets optimum use of all product (especially food & beverage) as well as a smooth flow of service. Needless to say, safety and cost optimization are always your priorities. In the role of Stores/Shipping/Receiver you will:


• Be Detail Oriented - keep meticulous logs of the items received and stored as well as what is used to ensure controls, costs and an appropriate level of supplies is in place for each hotel department. Date all food received and rotate (first in and first out) to ensure utilization of oldest product first. Assist with monthly inventory process.


• Be the Inspector - inspect all deliveries to ensure daily compliance with all specifications and verify that an invoice or packing slip is present. Check all deliveries against purchase orders to ensure quantity and quality of goods received.


• Be a Service Star - issue goods and supplies as needed, adhering to the Requisition SOP to ensure timely/accurate delivery to all departments.


• Be a Clean Guru - maintain high sanitation standards for the storeroom, walk-in, refrigerators, freezers and loading dock area (as well as any other areas assigned to you) to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Report any non-functioning equipment for repair to engineering ASAP.


• Be a Safety & Security Agent - follow your hotel's established safety and security policies & procedures as well as all OSHA guidelines.





Job Requirements



At least 1 year of prior hotel or related as well as 1 year of customer service experience is required. Must have the ability to communicate effectively. Physical requirements include the ability to work long hours, many on your feet. Very Heavy work - Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, ability to multi task. The right candidate will possess the ability to bend, stretch, twist or reach with your body and arms and will be able to work under variable temperatures and noise levels. The ability to stand and/or walk for long periods of time without sitting or leaning is required as is the ability to work under variable temperature conditions and noise levels, both indoors and outdoors as well as around chemicals or fumes. This role may need to work with a computer, telephone, radio, as well as a pallet jack, flat bed and hand truck.
