Banquet BartenderYou love people and enjoy a crowd, but prefer to work a banquet function such as a conference or a wedding to a lounge bartender role. You are upbeat and like to chat but know when to be low key and focus on the job so event guests can maximize their party time. You can do multiple tasks without missing a beat and know the latest liquor/wine trends. You may make a great Banquet Bartender!In the role of Banquet Bartender you will:

  • Be a Crowd Pleaser -- Smile, welcome, engage -- connecting with people will be a key part of this role as you courteously serve our guests, monitoring and ensuring legal consumption as you go.
  • Be a Professional -- keep your bar stocked, cleaned and sanitary. Serve safely. Handle cash/credit appropriately. Follow established policies and procedures. Involve management as needed.
  • Be a Safety & Security Agent -- follow your hotel's established safety and security policies & procedures. Anticipate problems and call management as needed. A current ServSafe certificate/alcohol certification is required.

Physical requirements include the ability to work long hours, Medium work -- exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, ability to multi task. Must possess the ability to bend, stretch, twist or reach with your body and arms, work under variable temperatures and noise levels. Near Vision -the ability to see details at close range. Requires the ability to stand for long periods of time without sitting or leaning. Must possess excellent communication skills; fluency in English required. Must work well in a high energy / high stress environment and have the ability to multitask.Additional Job DetailsDuties & Functions
  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service oriented manner
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with New Castle standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and name tag when working
  • Comply at all times with New Castle standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations
  • Prepare bar fruit and garnish
  • Proper rotation of juices
  • Check soda tanks to ensure that they are full and attached properly to the bar
  • Count liquor for each party
  • Stock and clean glassware for bar
  • Prepare and serve drinks to guests in a courteous and friendly manner in accordance with hotel standards
  • Collect payments from guests (when necessary)
  • Clean bar and dispose of or store unused fruit and garnishes
  • Open multiple wine bottles for banquet dinner service
  • Prepare banquet liquor room for next day
  • Comply with and enforce all local liquor laws
  • Read and comprehend BEOs
  • Up-selling techniques
  • Able to sell hotel and have knowledge of all available amenities
  • Maintain work ethics and be accountable
  • Complete set-up and tear down of bar
  • Proper execution of cash bar procedures
  • Responsible for safety, sanitation, and cleanliness of service areas
  • Assist with loss prevention programs among service employees
  • Keep immediate supervisors fully informed of all challenges or matters requiring his/her attention
