SHIFT MANAGER



JOB SUMMARY:



The Shift Manager oversees production and operations in a high-volume automotive assembly facility. This role ensures that daily production targets are met safely, efficiently, and to quality standards, while supporting continuous improvement and fostering a positive work environment.



This Shift Manager will work a straight midnight shift



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



Lead training and development initiatives for team members to achieve and maintain operational KPIs. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Broadcast and Sequencing Systems, including line escalations. Monitor production schedules, allocate resources effectively, and ensure timely delivery of customer orders. Drive operational excellence through continuous process improvement, root cause analysis, and lean manufacturing principles. Collaborate cross-functionally with maintenance, quality, engineering, and logistics teams to resolve issues and enhance performance. Support implementation of engineering changes in coordination with relevant departments. Maintain and update workstation documentation, including Standardized Work Sheets (SWS), Process Verification Sheets (PVS), error proofing tools, and Autonomous Maintenance guidelines. Manage and update the Versatility Matrix to track and develop team member capabilities. Conduct Training Within Industry (TWI) sessions to build standardized skills and improve training effectiveness. Implement and sustain 5S practices and comply with all plant standards. Enforce safety, environmental, and company policy compliance across operations. Assist in the creation, validation, and closure of open issues through structured follow-up. Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures across the plant. Conduct regular process verifications and workstation audits to maintain quality and compliance. Apply knowledge of the PFMEA process to support cross-functional teams in risk identification and mitigation. Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational success.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



Bachelor's degree in operations, Engineering, Business (preferred) or equivalent relevant experience. 3+ years of leadership experience in a Just in Time (JIT) manufacturing environment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:



Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Skilled in mentoring and coaching team members on effective problem-solving techniques for plant and customer-related issues. Capable of identifying potential problems, prioritizing tasks effectively, and seeking assistance proactively to prevent escalations. Proven ability to drive accountability and performance within the workforce. Quick to learn and apply new skills, concepts, and technologies. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills for data-driven decision-making. Action-oriented and innovative in leading and improving manufacturing operations. Knowledgeable in quality systems and processes, including PCPs (Process Control Plans), MOPs (Manufacturing Operating Procedures), and rework procedures. Proficient in root cause analysis and problem-solving aligned with company values and continuous improvement culture. Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills, both written and verbal. Effective at engaging, influencing, and leading individuals and teams across multiple functions.
