We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Shift Manager to oversee daily operations within our restaurant or hospitality establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a solid background in food service, and the ability to manage a team effectively. This role is vital in ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining food safety standards, and fostering a positive work environment. Prior experience in restaurant management, supervising staff, and handling food industry operations will be highly valued. The Shift Manager will play a key role in coordinating kitchen activities, managing cash handling procedures, and ensuring smooth service during their shift.
Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate daily restaurant operations during assigned shifts, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality customer service.
Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to maintain quality standards and food safety compliance.
Oversee daily bar operations, ensuring proper setup, product availability, cleanliness, and smooth service throughout the shift.
Ensure compliance and cash control, including responsible alcohol service, ID verification, POS accuracy, and shift-end reconciliation.
Demonstrate strong bar knowledge, including classic cocktails, spirits, beer, wine, glassware, standard recipes, and alcohol service regulations.
Manage team members, including interviewing, training, scheduling, and performance management to foster a motivated and productive staff.
Handle cash transactions accurately using Micros POS or similar systems; perform cash handling duties with integrity.
Ensure adherence to food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures across all departments.
Monitor restaurant cleanliness, sanitation, and organization to meet health standards.
Address customer concerns promptly and professionally to enhance guest satisfaction.
Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies as needed.
Support team development through coaching on hospitality best practices and operational procedures.
Skills
Proven experience in food & Bar service or restaurant management with a focus on team supervision and leadership.
Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS for order processing and cash handling.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to resolve issues effectively.
Experience in supervising staff, including interviewing, training, and scheduling team members.
Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of hospitality industry standards, including hotel or barista experience is a plus.
Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate staff and foster teamwork.
