We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Shift Manager to oversee daily operations within our restaurant or hospitality establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a solid background in food service, and the ability to manage a team effectively. This role is vital in ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining food safety standards, and fostering a positive work environment. Previous restaurant management, supervisory experience, and familiarity with food industry best practices are highly desirable. The Shift Manager will play a key role in coordinating staff, managing operations during their shift, and ensuring smooth service delivery.
Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate daily restaurant or hospitality operations during assigned shifts
Oversee food preparation, cooking, and food handling to ensure quality and safety standards are met
Manage team members including interviewing, training, scheduling, and performance management
Ensure excellent customer service by addressing guest concerns promptly and professionally
Operate POS systems such as Micros POS for order processing and cash handling
Maintain adherence to food safety regulations and sanitation procedures
Assist with food industry-specific tasks such as serving, hospitality services, and barista duties if applicable
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with kitchen staff for timely replenishment of supplies
Enforce company policies and procedures to ensure a safe and efficient work environment
Handle cash transactions accurately and reconcile end-of-shift reports
Skills
Proven experience in restaurant management or food service leadership roles
Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards
Familiarity with POS systems like Micros POS or similar platforms
Excellent team management skills with the ability to supervise staff effectively
Experience in interviewing, hiring, and training new team members
Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction
Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and guide staff during busy shifts
Knowledge of restaurant operations including kitchen experience, hospitality services, serving, and barista skills preferred
Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and operate POS systems efficiently
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in food handling and safety compliance
Previous hotel experience or barista experience is considered a plus
