Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Shift Manager to oversee daily operations in our food service establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role requires a hands-on approach to managing staff, ensuring food safety, and maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency in food preparation and service.

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen and service staff during shifts. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures. Assist in food preparation and cooking as needed, demonstrating proficiency in various cooking techniques. Manage the Point of Sale (POS) system, including cash handling and transaction processing. Train, mentor, and evaluate team members, fostering a positive work environment. Conduct interviews for new hires and participate in the hiring process. Maintain inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as necessary. Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues to ensure a high level of satisfaction. Collaborate with upper management to implement operational improvements and enhance service quality.

Requirements

Proven experience in restaurant management or a similar role within the food industry. Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations. Familiarity with POS systems, specifically Micros POS is preferred. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle complaints effectively. Demonstrated supervisory experience with a focus on team management and leadership. Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in food handling. Previous experience in hospitality or barista roles is a plus. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
