Sheet Metal Mechanic

Profound Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing is an installer of heating, ventilation and plumbing systems located in Corbeil and servicing the Nipissing district in mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems in new house construction and home renovations.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Sheet Metal Mechanic to join our team. This role involves reading and interpreting blueprints, producing precise layouts and measurements, operating fabrication equipment, installing ductwork and ventilation systems, and performing troubleshooting on mechanical air systems. The Journeyman is expected to work independently or as part of a crew, mentor apprentices, and maintain a high level of craftsmanship while collaborating with contractors, supervisors, and other trades.

you will

be required

to:

Provide a high focus and attention to detail. Follow energy star installation process and procedures. Ensure all equipment is installed safely that meets or exceeds TSSA standards. Fabricate, assemble, and install sheet metal products including ductwork, fittings, flashings, and custom metal components. Read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and shop prints. Install HVAC systems in residential, commercial, or industrial settings. Follow Ontario safety regulations and company procedures; use PPE and tools safely. Measure, cut, shape, and weld sheet metal using brakes, shears, plasma cutters, and hand tools. Perform inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on ventilation and air-handling systems. Coordinate with other trades to ensure timely completion of work. Train and mentor apprentices in safe and accurate sheet metal practices. Explain the general operation and maintenance of equipment upon completion of installation (Customer satisfaction is of the highest priority). Common HVAC maintenance duties. Operate, maintain and troubleshoot cooling systems. Operate, maintain and troubleshoot heating systems. Schedule and manage contractors completing services and repairs.

Qualifications,

skills

and experience:

5+ years residential installation experience as Lead Installer. Valid

Journeyperson Certificate of Qualification (313A - Sheet Metal Worker)

in Ontario. Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, fabrication methods, and mechanical codes. Ability to work from heights, confined spaces, and physically demanding environments. Proficiency with fabrication machinery and installation techniques. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills. Valid Ontario driver's license (if required for travel to job sites).
