Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and reliable

Sheet Metal Install Helper/Apprentice

to join our

Commercial HVAC Division

at Postma Heating & Cooling, Plumbing, Electrical. In this role, you'll assist experienced installers in fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal ductwork and HVAC components on commercial projects. This position is ideal for individuals looking to develop a long-term career in the skilled trades while learning from a professional, safety-focused, and team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the installation and assembly of sheet metal ductwork, fittings, and HVAC components according to project specifications. Support the lead installer with material handling, measurements, and layout preparation. Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure tools and equipment are used safely and properly. Learn to read blueprints, drawings, and technical instructions under supervision. Follow all company safety procedures and participate in on-site safety meetings. Collaborate with crew members, project managers, and other trades to ensure efficient job completion. Take initiative to learn and grow into a skilled sheet metal installer.

Qualifications:

Some experience in construction, HVAC, or sheet metal work is an asset, but training will be provided. Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to learn. Ability to lift, carry, and position materials safely and work in varying site conditions. Team player with good communication skills and a positive attitude. Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Enrollment in or willingness to register for an HVAC apprenticeship program is an asset.
