ICON Sheet Metal Ltd. is a Vancouver Island based sheet metal contracting company, operating and completing projects throughout Vancouver Island with a focus on Victoria and the South Island area. We specialize in multi-unit condos, tenant improvements and small to medium commercial fit outs. We offer installation and maintenance for new and or existing commercial or industrial building projects.

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Sheet Metal Foreman / Supervisor to oversee the installation of ducting and sheet metal work on a variety of commercial and multi-family residential projects. The ideal candidate has a minimum of five years' experience, strong leadership abilities, and excellent communication skills. Position Accountabilities

Project Oversight

: Supervise and coordinate sheet metal installation teams on Commercial HVAC projects.

Installation & Fabrication

: Lead and participate in the layout, fabrication, and installation of ductwork and related sheet metal components.

Quality Control

: Ensure all work meets or exceeds industry standards, project specifications, and client expectations.

Team Leadership

: Mentor, train, and guide junior team members; foster a positive, safety-conscious, and productive work environment.

Scheduling & Coordination

: Work closely with project managers, contractors, and other trades to develop and maintain project timelines, ensuring that deliverables are met efficiently.

Communication

: Act as the point of contact for clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders regarding project progress, issues, and changes.

Safety Compliance

: Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and site requirements.

Required Experience

Experience

: At least

5+ years of experience

in ducting, sheet metal installation, or a related field, ideally in a foreman or lead position.

Technical Skills

: Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, and architectural drawings; familiarity with various sheet metal fabrication tools and HVAC equipment.

Leadership Skills

: Demonstrated ability to manage, motivate, and develop teams; strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.

Attention to Detail

: A keen eye for identifying potential issues or deviations, ensuring precision in fabrication and installation.

Communication

: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with clients, project managers, and trades.

Work Ethic

: Strong organizational skills and commitment to meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards.

Licenses/Certifications

: Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA, HVAC-related, or sheet metal apprenticeship completion) preferred
Please note, this position will be required to travel to various locations between Nanaimo and Mid-Vancouver Island.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $42.00-$55.00 per hour
