We are seeking a skilled and passionate Shawarma Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have experience in food preparation, cooking, and food safety, with a focus on preparing authentic shawarma. This role involves creating high-quality dishes in a fast-paced environment, ensuring customer satisfaction through exceptional meal presentation and taste. The Shawarma Cook will play a vital part in delivering an authentic dining experience and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and food handling.
Responsibilities
Prepare and cook shawarma according to traditional recipes and restaurant standards
Handle all aspects of food preparation, including marinating, slicing, and assembling ingredients
Maintain proper food safety and sanitation practices at all times
Assist in menu planning to introduce new shawarma varieties and complementary dishes
Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and rotated regularly
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives and cooking appliances
Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely service during busy hours
Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including utensils, surfaces, and cooking stations
Adhere to dietary guidelines and accommodate special dietary requests when necessary
Support catering events or special functions as needed
Qualifications
Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or culinary roles within the food industry or restaurant settings
Strong knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation techniques
Knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling procedures
Experience with menu planning and fine dining presentation is a plus
Background in dietary aide work or dietary department experience is advantageous
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
Prior experience in catering or serving is beneficial but not required
Passion for authentic cuisine, especially shawarma, with a commitment to quality and customer satisfaction
