Setup of injection molds, presses and auxiliary equipment before machine start up and establish proper molding conditions (temperature settings, electrical control settings, etc.)
Assist with maintenance of auxiliary equipment including: granulators, conveyors, temperature controls, mold electrical controls.
Make minor repairs and adjustments to machines and equipment, notify Plant Manager of necessary major repairs or issues.
Troubleshoot injection molding presses to meet expected product quality and specifications.
Communicate with previous and next shift to understand any technical or quality issues
unload and place magnetic tag (name and job number) on the appropriate molds
Verify schedule/set up board for proactive measures.
Set and adjust machine controls according to specifications or from instructions of supervisor. Use all available setup records as a guide to machine setup in relation to machine cycles, temperature settings, etc.
Setup and prepare auxiliary equipment such as temperature controllers, conveyors, resin dryers, finishing tools, drill press, tapping head, etc.
Report to supervisor any setups that cannot be run in accordance with prescribed methods.
Have machine in operation and producing acceptable parts, checked by inspection, before releasing for production operation.
Instruct operator on proper operation of machine such as loading and unloading machine, etc.
Acknowledge and correct molding difficulties. Report to supervisor of all problems and all difficulties with molding process.
Maintain accurate records on job starting and stopping times, production counts, and machine downtime.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area, quantity, quality, and safety standards or procedures.
Perform additional job duties not outlined but within the scope of the job activities as directed.
Check with operator on machine to confirm all needs for that mold have been met
When directed by supervisor: box parts or provide general janitorial needs.
Load molds and parts on trucks and ensure proper documentation is provided and kept
Other duties as required.
Daily Overtime
Preference will be given to candidates with experience working as a plastic injection molding set up technician.
This is a full-time permanent afternoon shift position. 3:00 pm- 11:00pm plus overtime as required.
Pay will be determined based on experience and mechanical ability.
