DescriptionThe School of Public Policy invites applications for Fall 2024 Sessional Instructor to teach in our Master of Public Policy program.The School of Public Policy is Canada\'s leading policy school, which provides hands-on training in Canada and abroad through a Master of Public Policy Program, an Extractive Resource Governance Program, and an Executive Training Program. Its alumni can be found in leadership positions in the private, public and non-profit sectors across Canada.Our vacant positions include teaching the following course(s):PPOL 699.42: International Development Policy & Practice
Fall 2024 Term, Thursdays from 1:00 to 4:00pThis course provides an overview of the key policy considerations encountered in the field of contemporary international development. This introduction to development policy is for anyone with interested in engaging with international development as a career or on a volunteer basis through governmental or non-governmental organizations. Students will be exposed to development history and evolving development theories, the range of key players operating in the international development area, and a range of key development topics. Students will be asked to wrestle with challenging issues in class discussions to define and refine their own positions on critical topics.Position RequirementsThe School of Public policy is seeking a candidate to teach this course who have excellent teaching credentials and a demonstrated background in the subject matter for the course. Applicants must have a strong commitment to teaching, particularly at the post-graduate level, and ideally hold an earned doctoral degree in an area closely related to the course to be taught.
