Fall 2024 Term, Wednesdays from 5:00 to 8:00pmThe course covers program evaluation in empirical public policy, exploring data types, measurement, and the difference between descriptive and inferential evaluations. Students learn about challenges like p-hacking and statistical power, along with research designs such as interviews and case studies. Emphasis is placed on the importance of sound evaluations in public policy and how analysts\' assumptions impact report quality and real-world outcomes. The goal is to equip practitioners with the skills to assess the credibility of policy reports and other analyses effectively.Position Requirements
The School of Public policy is seeking a candidate to teach this course who have excellent teaching credentials and a demonstrated background in the subject matter for the course. Applicants must have a strong commitment to teaching, particularly at the post-graduate level, and ideally hold an earned doctoral degree in an area closely related to the course to be taught.
