Position: Service Writer

Service Advisors are technical salespeople and report directly to the Sales Floor Manager. Service Advisors also work closely with all technicians, including the Head Technician.
Summary
Takes personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work and achieves results with little oversight, including following guidelines, standards, regulations, and principles.
Service Advisors strive to help create the best service department in the industry: one that strives to surpass rider expectations; and one that is profitable to the company.
Service Advisors are the point of initial contact for riders seeking maintenance and repairs and are expected to deliver exemplary hospitality. Service Advisors deliver high quality work orders and act as trouble shooters for the work orders for the technicians.
Job Duties
Administrative
Politely and professionally reply to service emails and phone calls
Input minutes availability in Ascend
Attend semi-annual scorecard reviews in conjunction with the Sales Floor Manager and Operations Manager
Team
Contribute to a positive team environment
Schedule the work order activities of the technicians
Advise technicians of work that must be completed
Attend morning Sales Floor huddles
Relay service concerns to Sales Floor manager or Operations Manager
Infrastructure
Maintain an impeccable level of cleanliness and organization
Keep service area well-stocked
Area of Expertise
Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of service technology and techniques
Exhibit high degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability
Schedule service work in the service department
Sell recommended or required services to riders
Gather and interpret information on the bicycle condition from the rider to create high quality work orders
Handle rider?s inquiries regarding work in process and appointments and return messages promptly
Communicate and gain authorization for additional work when needed and document thoroughly
Secure agreement from riders before repairs; cover cost estimate and approximate return time
Courteously handle rider?s complaints and misunderstandings
Research part compatibility and availability
Complete small repairs and accessory installs
Act as a technical resource for salespeople
