JOB LOCATION: BEAUSEJOUR, MB




Cobra Mechanical Ltd. is in search of an individual to fill the role of the Service Department Manager. The Service Department Manager will oversee the daily operations of Cobra Mechanical's service department, ensuring efficient and high-quality customer service delivery through performance management, service staff leadership, resolving customer issues, and implementing strategies to maintain customer satisfaction.


This position will also undertake the scheduling for the service department employees and the associated jobs/projects. Their focus will also be to monitor and oversee safety, cost, schedule, and execution of work on the various projects within their assigned area of responsibility. The Service Department Manager will be responsible for overseeing relationship management with a diverse network of vendors, communities, clients, and external organizations. This role will also focus on cultivating new partnerships and securing service contracts with prospective clients to drive business growth and expand the department's reach.

Key Responsibilities:



Operations Management



Daily operation of the service department, in conjunction with other internal team members. Responsible for the recruitment and staffing of service technicians, service managers, and coordinators to ensure the effective operation and support of the service department. Develop and implement departmental strategies and plans that align with organizational goals. Oversee the service department's workflow and track job progress to ensure efficient turnaround times. Oversee service department's administrative tasks such as creating and/or tracking work orders, invoices, service request records, and completed jobs. Manage permit and license applications/renewals related to service.

Customer Service Management



Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. Work with customers and technicians to explain repairs and expenses, resolve complaints and offer value-added and/or preventative maintenance services. Cultivate and strengthen customer relationships to foster loyalty and encourage repeat business. Coordinate with clients, contractors, and vendors to ensure project requirements are met and communication is maintained throughout the relationship lifecycle.

Scheduling



Schedule and plan service technician's workload on a daily basis and monitor progress. Oversee scheduling and resource allocation to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime. Ensure the delivery of service jobs and projects are completed according to schedule.

Financial Controls & Procurement



Prepare competitive quotes of various sizes for projects. Organize and control expenses to meet budget expectations. Creating purchase orders for the service department. Ensuring items are costed correctly to Job #'s and applying correct cost codes. Prepare invoices and coordinate with Project Analyst for payment.

Qualifications & Experience:



Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a Mechanical Service Department related role, with at least 5 years in a coordination or managerial role. Working knowledge of mechanical trade service techniques, service department experience & software, language, and requirements. Experience with the plumbing and HVAC industries would be an asset or a red seal certification. Proficient with MS Office and service management software.
