Job Description


This is an excellent opportunity to join and established developer / builder in a Service / QA Management capacity. You will be responsible to conduct PDI\'s with Homeowners, help monitor quality control, 30 day Tarion lists, year-end Tarion lists and second year Tarion lists and be a liaison between construction staff and Homeowners and deliver the company\'s marquis Move in Ready inspections.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Assess work is completed per plan, scope, and customer selected options and extras.
  • Conduct the company\'s move in ready (MIR gate 1) inspection.
  • Conduct the company\'s PDI inspection.
  • Audit houses at PDI (MIR Gate 2) for level of completion and quality from initial MIR inspection.
  • Be proficient in company (finishing) scopes and act as an ambassador of company quality.
  • Track and drive Homeowner Survey initiative.
  • Conduct pre inspections on all 30 day and 1 year Tarion lists.
  • Supervise and schedule all seasonal exterior items to completion.
  • Respond and assess all homeowner emergency calls.
  • Support the company\'s health and safety program while on site.
  • Responsible for explaining Tarion warranty program to homeowners.
  • Communicate repeat issues and on-going patterns and recommend corrective actions.
  • Assess and attend all Conciliation appointments on site to address all escalated homeowner concerns.
  • Regularly reviews and actions all scheduled appointments, service matters and deficiencies until point of completion.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:
  • Post-Secondary education with a focus on construction management or related field an asset
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within residential new home construction.
  • Understanding of new home construction, specifically from a finishing perspective.
  • Keen eye for detail, quality, and understand the fit and finishing of new home construction.
  • Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative.
  • Familiarity with Ontario Building Code (OBC) an asset.
  • Proficient working knowledge of Tarion\'s Construction Performance Guidelines.
  • Positive attitude, optimistic perspective, and diplomatic approach.
  • Team player with the strong ability to work independently to meet goals and objectives.
  • Comfortable with the use of technology, completing, documenting inspections via tablet.
  • Flexible, with the willingness and ability to travel daily to assigned sites and to work at locations across the division.
  • Must have a valid driver\'s license and regular access to a vehicle.

Due to current growth, the organization is seeking to secure an experienced Service and Quality Assurance Manager for their Toronto area development portfolio.
