J's SteakFrites is a tribute to the tradition of Parisian Entrecote steakhouses. Located in the heart of Toronto's Little Italy neighbourhood.

At least 3 consecutive years in a Service restaurant is required.

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Server to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced restaurant environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing exceptional customer service and a strong understanding of food safety and handling practices. As a Server, you will play a crucial role in creating memorable dining experiences for our guests while ensuring efficient service and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.

Duties

Greet and seat guests promptly, presenting menus and providing recommendations. Take accurate food and drink orders using the POS system, specifically Micros POS. Serve food and beverages to guests in a timely manner, ensuring satisfaction throughout the meal. Handle cash transactions accurately, including processing payments. Maintain cleanliness of tables, dining areas, and service stations in accordance with sanitation guidelines. Assist with dessert preparation as needed, ensuring adherence to food safety standards. Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and address any guest concerns. Manage time effectively during busy shifts to ensure all guests receive prompt service.

Skills

Proven experience in the food service industry, preferably in a restaurant setting. Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with guests. Knowledge of food handling procedures and basic food safety regulations. Familiarity with POS systems, particularly Square, is highly desirable. Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during peak hours. Basic math skills for processing payments. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with guests and team members. Pay: $17.60-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 32 per week
