The Stone Crock

is an independently owned and operated hospitality group of restaurants and food shops located in St Jacobs that includes Jacob's Grill, the Pub, the Stone Crock Bakery, the Butcher & Market, and the Stone Crock Catering and Events. The Stone Crock was founded in 1974 and has been an integral part of the town of St Jacobs since then.

Description

- This position is responsible for complete food & beverage service at all assigned tables in a high-volume restaurant. Works in an efficient and professional manner while maintaining a positive attitude and delivering superior guest services always.

This job description is a summary of duties however it is by no means an all-inclusive list. It is merely a broad guide to expected duties of the position:

- Organize and prioritize service as per appropriate service sequence

- Order taking and enter orders into POS system promptly and accurately

- Ensure all the food and drinks are served according to specifications, always using position numbers so that the guest is not disturbed unnecessarily

- Ensure that all the necessary stocks are being replenished during the shift

- Setup, side stations with condiments, sauces, water, glasses, printer rolls, trays, side plates, cutlery rolls

- Set tables in a timely manner, specified standards and according to the reservations of the day

- Move furniture as directed by management, including but not limited to: tables, chairs, bar stools, banquettes, bar tables, boxes, and equipment

- Polish all silverware and glasses.

- Perform stock count of Chinaware, glasses, silverware, etc.

- Possess a thorough knowledge of all menus, from the engineering of the menu to the ingredients, cooking methods, and the adaptability of each item

- Ensure all food are served immediately when exiting the pass area

- Respond to guest concerns/complaints and correct errors or resolve complaints with a positive attitude and escalate to management when necessary

- Comply with all safety and health department procedures and all provincial and federal liquor laws

- Maintain company safety and sanitation standards

- Prepare guest checks through POS terminal functions.

- Process guest payments by cash, credit card, venue comps and all other tender types Ensure accurate accounting of all monies

- Ensure complete and proper check out procedures

- Clean all spills and waste immediately and place all trash in proper receptacles

- Inform management of any complaint, comments or incident

- Report any incidents of theft, vandalism, or violations

- Respond to guest concerns/complaints and correct errors or resolve complaints with a positive attitude

Ensure assigned nightly/weekly and opening/running/closing duties are completed



- Record and report any equipment failure and or safety hazards to a manager immediately

- Assists and or completes additional tasks as assigned

- Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time

- Must be dexterous and able to participate in all service aspects.

- Must be able to twist, tow (push or pull), reach, bend, climb and carry as necessary

- Must be able to push and lift up to 50 lbs.

- Ability to use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls

REQUIREMENTS:



Smart Serve Certified 5 years of serving experiences Conflict Resolution Expert Organization Skills Excellent Communication Skills Knowledge of food, wine, cocktails, and craft beer Exceptionally good knowledge in using POS - (Global Payments) Ability to endure long hours standing and walking. Must be able to continually lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to bend, twist, lift, and carry items for extended periods of time Must have availability Sunday to Friday 11am to 11pm

RESPONSIBILITIES:



Constantly striving to improve overall quality of the restaurant and workplace Maintaining/up keeping the appearance of the dining room Serving a full section while ensuring that restaurant operations are running smoothly

Schedule:



Weekdays/Weekends Occasional holidays Daytime and evening hours Weekend availability is required

Ability to commute/relocate:



St. Jacobs, ON, N0B 2N0: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work Public transportation to the Village does exist, but not all hours of the day
