(Full-time, Temporary Position Until June 30, 2026, possibility of extension)
About the position:
McMan is seeking to recruit a dedicated SENIOR YOUTH WORKER that will provide care, supervision, counseling and support to youth who struggle with complex behaviours and mental health disorders, using the CARE Model while demonstrating a strength-based, solution-focused approach. Youth in this home may be dealing with addictions and mental health and are being supported using Harm Reduction Model. Team members are central to mentoring, supporting, and guiding youth in developing the skills they need for independence and well-being.
Hours:
40 hours per week; Monday to Friday 1 week 7:00 am - 3:00 pm and 2 weeks 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm. Some flexibility is required as shifts will include days, evenings and weekends.

What you'll do:
Connect with and develop helping relationships with youth
Support and offer guidance to youth
Supervise youth in the home
Support and supervise relief staff in the home
Behaviour management
Complete documentation
Perform administrative and cleaning duties relating to the operation of the home
Participate in on-going program development
What you bring:
Completion of a Degree/Diploma in Human Services
Two (2) years of directly related experience in youth/family work
Knowledge of addictions and experience with youth at risk
Equivalencies may be considered
Standard First Aid-Level C CPR + AED
Police Information Check; including Vulnerable Persons Sector Check (from within the last 6 months)
Children Services Intervention Record Check (from within the last 6 months)
Valid 3-year Class 5 driver's license, a current drivers abstract, a reliable vehicle and auto insurance are required
Strong communication and relationship building skills are an asset
Ability to deal with complex high needs
Experience with trauma and developmental delays
Knowledge of de-escalation techniques and harm reduction practices
CARE (Children And Residential Experiences) training is an asset
Desire to see youth succeed
